OHIO EXPLORED
Meet The Northern Market at our Ohio Explored Holiday Maker Mart!
The Northern Market caught our eye because of its beautiful yet functional minimalist line of handmade home goods and market bags. Owner, Lindsey Zinno, founded The Northern Market as a teenager. As a young entrepreneur and Environmental Sciences major, Lindsey applies environmental consciousness to her products and everyday life. Every piece by The Northern Market is a unique One-of-a-Kind item! This Cincinnatian is putting the city on the map by being featured in shops around the world!

THE NORTHERN MARKET
I first was drawn to The Northern Market for its succulent simplicity. Her woven work reminded me of woodcut prints and tree rings. So I was especially excited to learn that her products—many made from a single piece of rope—are locally sourced, naturally dyed, and crafted from scrap materials. It's always so inspiring to me to meet with makers who are taking stuff that's already in circulation and transforming it into functional works of art.

Sharing the Craft
Mothers and daughters can lock heads when it comes time to teach sewing. In fact, in many households, the love of sewing skips a generation. But not always. My niece, Lindsey Zinno (daughter of my infamous stitching sister, Marie Zinno), is the proud maker and owner of The Northern Market. Lindsey created NM to provide multi-functional fiber art for the modern home and lifestyle. Her work is sold online and in boutiques across America and Europe. And she started this company at the ripe old age of 17 – yes, SEVENTEEN!
